Classes

CPR/AED - This 4.5 hour course focuses on emergency response and life-saving techniques in an urban setting.  Topics include breathing emergencies, sudden illnesses, shock, and life-saving techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation.  American Red Cross certification is valid for two years. Course fee is $55.


FIRST AID - This 3.5 hour course teaches individuals how to provide care for many types of injuries and illnesses, ranging from frostbite to snake bites and everything in between.  American Red Cross certification is valid for two years. Course fee is $45.


WILDERNESS REMOTE FIRST AID - A great introduction to safety techniques and wilderness medicine for anyone who enjoys spending time or working outdoors.  This course emphasizes the ability to improvise and provide care in unusual situations or remote environments.  WRFA consists of 16-hours of hands-on instruction and scenarios, with an optional 4.5 hour CPR/AED course as an addition.  Whether you are a Boy Scout or river guide, WRFA can be catered to your needs, and offered in a classroom or in the field.  Participants must be at least 16-years old and hold or earn current CPR/AED certification.  Course cost $150.

                                                                  
                                                                                    
LEAVE NO TRACE AWARENESS WORKSHOP - Learn the basics of outdoor ethics, and incorporate the seven principles of LNT awareness into your own outdoor practices.  All ages.  Course fee is $20.


LEAVE NO TRACE TRAINER COURSE - Become a Leave No Trace Trainer through this 16-hour weekend course.  You will be able to lead your own LNT Awareness Workshops and bring the LNT message to friends, family, hiking clubs, Boy Scouts, or the staff at your outdoor recreation company.  This course requires at least one night spent in the field, so participants must be prepared to camp out under the stars.  Participants must be at least 14-years old.  Course fee is $80.

                                     


FRONT COUNTRY ETHICS - A useful class for families, scouts, and all those new to outdoor recreation.  Learn the Do's and Don'ts of front country camping, whether in a State Park, National Park, or forested campsite.  Custom trips are available and catered to participants.


BACKPACKING BASICS - Wanting to explore some of our nation's finest backcountry?  Don't sweat it, instead learn to pack light and pack right.  Backpacking Basics will take you through the planning stages for any trip, from three miles to 300 miles.  We'll teach you how to plan mileage, pare down your essentials, discover delicious trail foods, balance your load, avoid injuries, and find great campsites every night.  Custom trips are available and catered to participants.
